Ah, the alarm. Yes folks, it was time again for us to trip our alarm and test another feature. We already know that a person will trip the motion detector, but this time we tested how sensitive it was. We also tested the alarm companies phone chain reliability. We purposefully left our cat at home unsupervised while we went out with a few friends. The cat then tried everything in his kitty bag-o-tricks to trip the motion sensor in our house. It must have taken him some time to figure out the right move to do it, because we did not receive a call until about an hour and a half after we left the house. The alarm company did call and inform us of the alarm going off and that the authorities were going to check on the house. We told them that it probably was the cat, since no other alarms in other parts of the house had gone off. Thus mostly proving that the cat can, in fact, trip the alarm. This is quite an impressive accomplishment for him – a first in fact. Since September (the installation) he has not tripped the alarm once while we were gone. The next task will be to figure out what move he used (as the motion sensor is in an area where he shouldn’t be able to trip it – nothing to jump on). But that would take more effort than it was worth. So’ll I’ll just guess. He’s crazy, that one. I do feel a bit sorry for him though. He did have to deal with the siren going off for who knows how long. Anyhow, this now (hopefully) completes the unscheduled testing sessions of our alarm system. Thank you. You may now return to your regularly scheduled internet surfing. Or get back to work, whatever.
