Read your patients’ medical histories. Please. It will save money, heartache and feelings, and who knows it may even save someone’s life. I know too many people recently who have been hurt physically and/or emotionally because the medical staff did not take the time to read the patient’s medical history before a)speaking to them, and b)PERFORMING SURGERY. Yes, I’m peeved. Please, just do your job and read the history. Maybe someone could do a cost/benefit analysis of what it would save if medical histories were actually consulted 100% of the time. Maybe then they would be motivated to do it.
Ok, rant over. For now.
