Meat Tenderizing as Therapy

Seriously.  You get to beat the crap out of something (that was at least once living) without actually causing harm to anything, and if you properly cover the meat in question…you don’t make a mess. And what do you get out of it?  Some tastey food and a little bit of physical venting with no negative consequences.  I’d say that’s a fair deal.  Today, my therapy time was spent on some cube steak.  I’m making it (to the best of my ability) ‘Betty Style’, so here’s hoping.
Do you ever wonder if the practice of tenderizing meat came about purely by accident?  Some woman was having a bad day and took it out on the chicken they were having for supper.  Her bad day may have in fact been due to that very chicken. Because we all know chickens are evil…. and then for dinner it tasted extra good and tender, and thus meat tenderizing was born.  Sounds good to me.
