In this part of the world, I’m glad it’s raining.

I’m sure if I were living in the middle of the country, anywhere near a river, I wouldn’t be as excited, but as it hasn’t rained here (well) for several weeks, and it’s been at LEAST 91-95 degrees everyday – I’m glad.  We woke to some sorta severe weather this morning, but nothing too bad.  Just some wind (they said gusts in the 50-60 mph range) and a good amount of rain.  It wasn’t a huge widespread storm, so I can’t say that everyone got the same benefit, but we missed out on the big rain that went through earlier this week, so we’ll take what we can get.  Now, this nice cool cloudiness is going to be short-lived – it’s supposed to be sunny, humid and 94 by this afternoon, but it’s nice right now.   The other day when a storm passed through (the one that blew by but didn’t rain at our house) it was so nice I went and stood on the front porch and just enjoyed the pre-storm wind, coolness and the smell of rain.  Ah, all the memories of sitting in the garage with the door open watching it rain – watching the rain come across the field.
