There I am. Looking through the past few months at the
hundreds thousands of images of our precious little one. So adorable. There he is playing on the floor, being lifted up by daddy, being tickled by daddy, read to by daddy, bouncing in the bouncy chair, sleeping, crying…you get the idea. And then I see it. Look, there is a photo with Mommy in the frame! See, you can distinctly see my finger slightly blocking the lens. This is not OK.
I knew it would happen, I just still managed to convince myself that, “no, we’ll surely get pictures of me too without too much trouble. It’ll happen. Sure” Riiiiight. It doesn’t just happen. When one of you is the shutterbug, no, shutter-addict, the other one is in all the pictures. It just happens. Even if both of you are shutterbugs, it’s still going to be lopsided. And I’m going to do something about it.
Starting this week. The Dude and I are taking a weekly photo, courtesy of the timer on my camera. Yes, there will still be taken-by-daddy pictures, but this will be our special little project together. Us doing what we do all day, with a little camera timer magic to catch us in the act. I’m thinking of it like a little weekly self portrait – with my dude. Only this time he’s not in my belly. 😉
And yes, we switched outfits mid mini photo session because someone (not me) had an “up the back” moment. 😉
“I got your nose Mom.”
I’m excited to see what we come up with =)
