Aren’t surprises great!

Well, I’m in Ohio this weekend for Michelle’s wedding tomorrow, but my siblings and I were also finally ready to present Mom and Dad with their 2 months late 35th anniversary gift. I haven’t been able to post about in the rare chance that my mother might read my blog. So yes, for the past several months my siblings and I have been putting together a DVD (actually a VCD, but whatever) about my parents (growing up, dating, marriage, kids, grandkids, etc). It’s been a lot of fun finding out more info on them and interviewing family and friends. It’s amazing what you can learn about your family if you just ask the right questions. Jason and Heather did a great job of being covert and sneaking photos and slides out of the house and keeping this all a secret. I did the editing and putting all of it in some sort of order and came up with about an hours worth of stuff. Now, it could’ve been much longer, but I thought an hour was a good length this time around. Maybe there will have to be a Volume 2. But anyhow, I got it finished on Sunday, so we started planning and invited some folks over w/o telling mom and dad. We were already getting together Friday night to eat pizza, so we just had them show up later and that would be the indicator of some sort of surprise. So we played the ‘movie’ for them and I think they really liked it. It was pretty funny, but that’s just cause everyone who participated was so great and we got a lot of juicy details. hehe. So it was a good evening, but i’m off to bed to get ready for the big wedding day tomorrow! Congratulations Michelle & Zak!!! Yipeeee!
