Astigma-wha?

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it’s time once again for Karyn to attempt this whole-wearing glasses thing. No, Heather and Jason, your wish hasn’t come true, I haven’t been relegated to the realm of contacts and constant eyewear. I can still see my alarm when I get up in the morning. I just have an astigmatisatigmism. What, you say? Well, rather than listen to my feeble attempt to explain it, just Click HERE. These people seem to have some good information. I just have the condition a little bit and I don’t really notice it much at all, but for me I thinks it’s part of why I keep getting headaches, and all this computer time can wear my eyes out. So, my ‘normal’ vision is still fine, I just have this astigathingy, so I’m supposed to wear them, you guessed it, while reading and on the computer and … now that I’m old enough to drive…night driving! How fun! Hehe. Anyhow, the doc said that an astigmatism (ha! see, i can spell it!) can cause double vision or shadows around the edges of things, headaches and eye strain and stuff like that. So, in 4-6 days, I’ll have me a new pair of glasses! Yay for insurance! And Mom, don’t worry, I got the scratch resistant kind and the two year warranty – cause we all know what happened to the last pair of real glasses I owned. Teehee.

  • Anonymous - Darn! I thought you were crossing over to our side and would have to suffer with the rest of us blindys! I still have to be jealous of seeing the alarm clock with out squinting or moving to within 2 inches of it! I think I need a picture of K with glasses and I’ll just pretend that you have to wear them all the time! 🙂

  • Mielinski - and i thought you had double vision cause you are drunk all the time. glad to hear you dont have to change those habits =P

  • Anonymous - I’ll say it — FOUR EYES! Don’t worry, I don’t think you’ll be teased or ridiculed too much for wearing glasses, unlike those of us who got them in KINDERGARTEN. You can enjoy your glasses like you enjoy your, you know, earrings — as a fashion accessory. But I’m not bitter. : )

    — this would be heather

  • broccoflower - Wow, double vision is skeery.

Thanks for your reassuring comment by the way.
