To answers J’s question, the Mud Run is an annual event in Fort Worth at the Joint Reserve Base. Basically it is a huge muddy obstacle course. The event has grown a ton every year. You pay to participate, whether individually or on a team. The money goes to help several charities and military groups. There are people who are really good and competitive and they start first, so that everyone else who is just happy to finish, doesn’t get in their way. Basically it is a mud-drenched 10K race with about 17 or so (i think) obstacles along the way.
If you want to read more, click on THIS LINK to visit the Mud Run site. Most of the stuff is about last year and previous years right now, but it’s pretty consistent. There’s even a map of last year’s course.
So far, I have a mostly definite team of 4 people, including myself who want to give it a try. There are training sessions held at our fitness center to help people prepare for the running and the obstacles. Fun times.
Oh, and it’s in October. =)
