5k Training: Week 3

Hills.  We did hills this week. We jogged/walked…..make that walked/jogged…1.5 miles to the hill, ran up it 5 times at different levels of intensity and then limped walked/jogged back 1.5 miles to the fitness center.  Since I’m still nursing my shins, I didn’t push it too hard, plus it was ridiculously hot and humid on Tuesday night.  After training, the friend I was walking/jogging with came back to the house and we made limeade slushies.  They were so good.  Did I mention that I love slushies?  I think next week I’m going to make them ahead of time and keep them in the cooler in the trunk so we can have them right away. Oh how yummy that will be when it’s 95 degrees outside.  Maybe I could make gatorade slushies. That would be super.   So anyhow, aside from the fact that I’m not supposed to actually run until my leg feels better and then I can’t push my heart rate above a certain number whenever I exercise….things are going well.  I’m still excited about the training and I’m enjoying it.  Today is kickboxing. Yeah!
