My shins, my shins

(Warning: Whining alert) hehe.  Just dealing with a bit of pain this morning in my shins.  All this running is apparently taking a tole on my legs and they need some help.  I’m excited though because I’m going to get them worked on by a sports massage therapist soon! woohoo!  Other than those owies, I’m doing good with the running.  We ran 6 x 400m intervals last night at training and I’ve actually improved my average 400m time by about 7 or 8 seconds.  We ran 400’s at our first regular training practice about 5 weeks ago and my average time was 2min 5s (very slow, I know), and last night my average time was about 1m 57s.  Not much, but it’s more improvement than I expected.   I was pleasantly surprised last night by the fact that the weather cleared up and stayed nice for practice, and then as we were doing our cool down stretches, the clouds rolled in.  Good timing.  We were at the TCU track practicing (first time there for me) and I have to say that is a nice facility.  Our other practice track is nice too, but it’s the difference between a public high school track and college track.  There’s a difference.  Mostly, a lot more lanes at the college track.
